DORINDA - Monica Austin has shown yet again that she has a style all her own. In her recent exhibition of her sketches shown at the Dorinda Arts Center, she further confirms my earlier judgment that she is a major talent with the potential to become a Dorinda art star. If Austin can continue to expand her compositional options while maintaining spiritual contact with her medium, the sky is the limit for this most promising artist.

DORINDA - Monica Austin is fast becoming one of my favorite artists. At this exhibit she shows her painting abilities. She has been known for sketching people, but in this exhibit she paints several people. She chooses not to paint pupils in her subjects' eyes. When asked why she chooses to do this, she replied, "I wanted to blind my subjects to the evil in the world." Austin makes a bold statement with these renderings, including a self-portrait and a portrait of her son.
